Description

Note:

  • A box contains 240g of tea in 30 pre-packed bags containing about 8 grams of tea each.
  • Depending on availability, the packaging bags design may differ from the one displayed in the image.
  • Recommendation: since 8 gram may be a lot for a single person, we recommend to split one bag in 2 sessions by using 4g per session.

Rou Gui Cultivar

Rou gui is a special kind of tea cultivar which literally means ‘Cinnamon Bark’. When fresh Rou Gui tea leaves are processed into an oolong tea, it has beautiful fruity and woody notes that reminds you of the fragrance of cinnamon.

5 Famous Bushes

Rou Gui tea is also known as Yu Gui (玉桂) and belongs to the 5 famous bushes of Wuyishan. The other four are: Tie Luo Han, Shui Jin Gui, Da Hong Pao and Bai Ji Guan. This cultivar was discovered 2 centuries ago during the Qing dynasty and is until today one of Wuyishan’s famous rock teas.

We’ve selected this Rou Gui for it’s exceptional rocky ‘Yan’ flavour and long lasting pungent aroma. Smell the bottom of your cup after you finish this tea, and you’ll understand how lingering its aroma truly is. Rou Gui is also known as Cassia Bark or Cassia oolong.
