Description

Tea has been here for thousands of years, but in the early days, tea drinking wasn’t considered a beverage to be appreciated. Instead, it was seen as just a herbal drink with many convenient health benefits. Instead of dedicated tea cups, people used rice and wine bowls instead.

The perception of tea changed during the Song Dynasty when tea making and tasting became a ritual.

The pottery master who created this cup shaped and glazed the cup in accordance with traditional methods. What’s unique about this cup is that it comes a different coating on the in and outside of the cup, creating an unique contrast of brown and dark grey.
