What is XiaoFa Tuocha?
The term ‘XiaoFa’ consists of 2 characters which are ‘销‘ and ‘法‘. The first character is pronounced as ‘xiao’ and means ‘to sell’ in Chinese. The second characters ‘fa’ translates into ‘France’. This Yunnan pu erh was the very first tuocha to be exported to France in the 70s, hence explaining its name.
During our last visit to the Xiaguan tea factory, we’ve asked for the company that imported the XiaFa Tuocha. Ms. Shen, a representative at the factory confirms the history, but Xiaguan doesn’t sell to France customer anymore. The company happens to be acquired by another company, and as a consequence Xiaguan lost contact. Luckily, the XiaoFaTuo is still produced until today based on exactly the same recipe. There’s a reason why, which is its smooth flavor and its amazing price tag. Try this awardwinning ripe pu erh tuocha tea yourself!
