Description
Wu Cai Duan
This zisha tea caddy, crafted from Wu Cai Duan Ni clay, originates from the Huanglong mountains. It’s clay type that offers excellent air permeability. The term ‘Wu Cai’ translates to ‘five colors,’ referring to the coloured ore particles that emerge on the surface after high-temperature kiln firing. Mining this clay is particularly challenging due to its location between layers of purple clay and regular yellow Duan Ni clay, resulting in a limited supply of this rare material.
Tea Storage
Yixing tea caddies are essential for tea enthusiasts, known for their ability to enhance aroma while protecting tea from moisture and unpleasant odors. This high-quality caddy can potentially double the fragrance of stored tea. It’s ideal for preserving various types of tea, as well as herbs and dried fruits.
Pomegranate Painting
The pomegranate branches and fruit adorning this tea caddy are hand-painted, while controlling the thickness of the clay paint and cleverly allowing the different colours to exhibit a three-dimensional effect.
