Description
This Dayi tea cake is made from premium sun-dried tea leaves from Menghai, Yunnan, and processed with Dayi’s signature fermentation technique. It has now matured for many years and is entering the optimal drinking age. The soup has a beautiful, ruby-red color, while the taste is rich and balanced, with a hint of aged wood, sweet dates, glutinous rice and rock sugar. The lingering aftertaste will make you crave another cup. The tea easily yields 15+ full-bodied infusions.
Note: the packaging shows a compression date of 21 December 2017, because it has to be pressed in advance to celebrate the 2018 dog year. This may be confusing given the batch code (1801).
Wangfu
Wangfu (旺夫) is a traditional Chinese concept that refers to a wife who brings blessings, wealth, and prosperity to her husband. This concept is reflected in the beautiful packaging of this cake, where a father looks after his puppies, the most precious blessing in the traditional Chinese family. In modern times, this concept is often interpreted as a ‘blessed marriage’.
The Wang Fu tea cake is perfect for those who prefer to buy smaller sized ripe pu erh tea cakes. Given the theme of the packaging, it also makes a suitable gift for weddings/anniversaries, people born in the year of the Dog, or dog lovers.
